Counselling That Comes to You
Not everyone can make it to a counselling room. Work schedules, caring responsibilities, health, distance, or simply the anxiety that makes leaving home feel difficult — there are many reasons why in-person sessions aren't always possible or preferable. Online counselling means you don't have to choose between getting support and everything else in your life.
I offer secure online sessions via Carepatron's built-in video platform — no additional software or accounts needed. I send you a link, you click it, and we meet. It's as straightforward as that.
Research consistently shows that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face for most people. Many clients actually find it easier to open up from their own space. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, pregnancy loss, or anything else I work with, online counselling offers the same quality of support as in-person.
How Online Sessions Work
Book your free consultation
A 20-minute video call to see how it feels to talk with me, ask questions, and decide if I'm the right fit. No obligation, no pressure.
Receive your secure link
I'll send you a Carepatron video link before each session. No downloads, no accounts — just click and join from any device.
Choose your space
Find somewhere private and comfortable — your living room, a bedroom, even your car. Headphones help if you're worried about being overheard.
Work at your own pace
Sessions run 50 minutes, weekly or fortnightly. Everything unfolds exactly as it would in person — just with you at home and me in Anfield.
🔒 Secure & Confidential
I use Carepatron, a GDPR-compliant, encrypted video platform designed specifically for healthcare professionals. Your session is private, secure, and never recorded. All you need is a device with a camera and microphone and a stable internet connection.
Is Online Counselling Right for You?
Online sessions work particularly well if you:
- Live outside Liverpool or can't easily travel to Anfield
- Have a busy schedule or caring responsibilities that make in-person sessions difficult
- Experience anxiety that makes leaving home feel overwhelming
- Feel more comfortable opening up from the safety of your own space
- Are dealing with grief or depression that makes getting out difficult
- Want continuity of care if you travel for work
- Simply prefer the flexibility and convenience of online sessions
Some people start online and move to in-person later — or the other way around. We can talk through what works best in the free consultation and change things as your needs shift.
Common Questions About Online Counselling
Is online counselling as effective as face-to-face?
Yes. Research consistently shows that online therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person for most conditions. The therapeutic relationship — the most important factor in counselling — translates well to video. Many people actually find it easier to open up from home.
What do I need for an online session?
A device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a private space. Headphones are recommended but not essential. No downloads needed — Carepatron runs directly in your browser on any device.
Is online counselling confidential?
Yes, completely. I use an encrypted, GDPR-compliant platform that is never recorded. The same confidentiality that applies in my Anfield room applies online, with the same very limited exceptions, which I explain fully before we begin.
What if the technology doesn't work?
Technical hiccups happen. If we lose connection I'll contact you straight away and we'll reconnect or continue by phone. I'll always make sure we don't lose that time. I'll send clear setup instructions before your first session.
Do online sessions cost the same?
Yes — £50 for 50 minutes, the same as in-person. The work is identical and so is the fee. Reduced-rate slots are available online too; if cost is a barrier, please reach out.
Can I switch between online and in-person?
Absolutely. Many clients mix both depending on their week. Flexibility is completely built in — just let me know what works best and we'll make it happen.
